The CCMT Teaching Fellowship Programme is designed to help recent graduate’s gain professional teaching and international development work experience pertaining to their academic area of interest and/or study. This is an exceptional opportunity to build pedagogical, project management, and post conflict country experience.

Who We Are

Canadian College of Modern technology is a fully accredited College, working in Affiliation with Njala University, in Mile 91 Sierra Leone. Our Silicon Hills Campus boasts 24 hour ecofriendly electricity and wireless internet access.

We are a small elite institution with 500 students enrolled in four Bachelor’s degrees programs, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Business Information Technology, and Business Administration. We place an emphasis on practical application of our learning, and all students receive a laptop upon enrollment, and our Mass Communication Department possesses as state of the art television and radio broadcast centre; the only such educational facility in Sierra Leone.

Our 20 staff come from more than five countries, and include a sizeable international contingent. Staffs are housed in self-contained secure apartment units complete with air-conditioning and wireless internet.

Positions & Duties

CCMT hosts 2-4 teaching fellows annually, from majors that include computer science, business administration, journalism, mass communication, mathematics and English.
Fellows are recruited from among Master’s Degree students and exceptional Bachelor’s Degree graduates to serve for an entire year, and are provided hands on coaching while they work as classroom teachers and take the lead on student life activities.

Typical duties will include:
• Serving as primary instructor for entry level first year classes.
• Teaching tutorials related to upper year classes.
• Advising student clubs or athletics teams.
• Supervising student practical’s, such as the app development project or Student radio or TV.

Salary Information
Teaching Fellows receive: round tripAirfare, housing, internal transport and medical coverage, meals at the College Cantina, and a month living allowance.


Minimum Qualifications

Teaching Fellow: Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university.
